Civic Budget 2018 in Gdynia
Voting ran from 18 June to 2 July 2018. In the 2018 Gdynia Civic Budget, exactly PLN 5,898,400 was to be distributed, plus the “+1” bonus, which this year amounted to PLN 203,900. This is a reward in the form of the realisation of an additional project (from city funds) for the neighbourhood with the highest number of votes.
In 22 districts, the citizens of Gdynia chose from 97 projects. As a result of an online vote via www.bo.gdynia.pl, residents identified 30 projects for implementation (and indirectly Project +1 resulting from the highest turnout).
In 15 days, 30,301 people cast their votes for the 2018 Gdynia Civic Budget. A record turnout was achieved in the Pustki Cisowskie – Demptowo district.
A total of PLN 158,128 was not allocated across the city. These funds have been transferred to the CB2019 pool of funds.
Project authors and voters could benefit from assistance from the staff of the Social Innovation Lab. It was thus possible to receive support in preparing applications and also in casting the vote correctly.
Voting for the Civic Budget was accompanied for the third time by the selection of Friendly District projects. These are projects prepared by the neighbourhood councils in local partnership, concerning the integration of the inhabitants, organisation of leisure time, cultural and sports activities, increasing the sense of security and family activities. PLN 25,000 was reserved for each district, which could be allocated to one or several projects as a result of the vote. The FD pool for the entire city was PLN 550,000. 23,803 people, or 10.24 percent of those eligible, voted for the Friendly District projects. Across the city, residents could choose from 101 projects. 37 have been selected for implementation.
